What You'll Learn

  • How to combine everything from Levels 1–5 — prompts, context, agents, workflows, templates — into one organised system
  • How to build a simple "front door" so the right piece gets reused instead of rebuilt
  • How to keep that system from going stale
  • Why This Matters

Without a system, every new piece of work starts from zero — a new prompt written from scratch, context re-explained, a workflow re-invented. A Claude "operating system" is just your accumulated prompts, context, agents and workflows organised so you (or a team) reach for the right one instead of rebuilding it. It's the payoff for everything in Levels 1–5.

    The Concept

An operating system has four kinds of parts, and most people already have all four scattered somewhere:

  • Prompt templates — your proven prompts for recurring tasks
  • Context sources — Projects, Skills, and documents that hold standing knowledge (brand voice, client facts, house rules)
  • Agents — the specific jobs you've built an agent to handle
  • Workflows — the multi-step processes from Guides 21–24, with their checkpoints
  • What makes it a system rather than a pile of files is an index: one place that says what exists and when to use it. It doesn't need to be sophisticated — a single page with clear sections beats a perfectly organised system nobody opens.

    Step-by-Step

  • Inventory what you've already built — list every prompt, Project, agent and workflow from Levels 1–5 that you actually reuse.
  • Sort into the four categories above.
  • Write one line per item: what it's for, and when to use it over something similar.
  • Build the front door — an index page (or a Project) that links to everything, organised by the job it does, not by when you built it.
  • Set a review cadence — a fixed point (monthly, or at the start of each new client/project) to retire what's stale and add what's new.
  • Example

A one-person content operation's index page might read:

  • Prompt templates: caption draft, hook variations, outline generator
  • Context: one Project per client holding brand voice, past approved examples, and house rules
  • Agents: a research agent for trend-gathering, a formatting agent for platform-specific exports
  • Workflows: the weekly content chain (Guide 22's pattern), with its sign-off step before anything goes to a client
  • Nothing here is new — it's everything already built, just given one address so it doesn't get rebuilt by accident three months later.

    Try This

Spend 20 minutes listing every reusable prompt, Project, agent and workflow you've actually built across this course. You'll likely find more than you remembered — and at least one you've rebuilt twice.

    Copy This

    [NAME]'S CLAUDE OPERATING SYSTEM

    PROMPT TEMPLATES
    - [name] — use for: [task] — [link/location]

    CONTEXT SOURCES
    - [name] — holds: [what knowledge] — [link/location]

    AGENTS
    - [name] — handles: [specific job] — [link/location]

    WORKFLOWS
    - [name] — for: [recurring process] — checkpoint at: [step]

    LAST REVIEWED: [date]
    NEXT REVIEW: [date]

    Common Mistakes

  • Building an elaborate system before proving any single piece earns its keep — start from what you already use
  • No review cadence, so the index quietly goes out of date and people stop trusting it
  • Making it too rigid for one-off work — not everything needs to fit the system
  • Keeping it all in your head "because you'll remember" — the whole point is that others, and future-you, won't
  • Level-Up Tip

The first version of your index only needs to be accurate, not complete. Add to it as you go rather than trying to capture everything in one sitting — an index you keep updating beats a perfect one you built once and abandoned.

    Action Checklist

○Inventoried every reusable prompt, Project, agent and workflow you've built
○Sorted them into the four categories
○Built one index page or Project linking to all of them
○Set a fixed review date to keep it current
○Confirmed at least one workflow in the index has a documented checkpoint

    Next Guide

You've completed Level 5. Continue to Level 6 for the next stage of the roadmap.

    LEVEL 5 CHECKPOINT

You should now be able to turn a piece of recurring work into a structured, supervised Claude system — not just a one-off agent.
