What You'll Learn

Nothing new — this guide is a structured project brief. Its job is to get you to combine everything from Levels 1–6 into one complete, practical Claude system built around a real, recurring piece of your own work.

Why This Matters

Thirty guides of techniques are only worth something once they're working together, unattended, on something that actually matters to you. The gap between "I know how to prompt well, research properly, use agents, and build workflows" and "I have a system doing real work for me every week" is this project. Close it now, while the roadmap is fresh.

The Concept

A complete Claude system has five parts, all from earlier levels, now assembled together:

  • Clear prompting (Level 2 and Guide 26) — constraints, examples, structured output.
  • Context (Level 2) — the background, files, or memory Claude needs to do the task well without you re-explaining it every time.
  • The right surface (Level 3) — chat, Projects, Code, or a connector-equipped setup, chosen for what the task actually needs.
  • One or more agents (Levels 4–5) — doing defined pieces of the work, not one giant undifferentiated prompt.
  • A defined workflow with human checkpoints — a clear sequence of steps, with explicit points where you review or approve before anything goes out the door.
  • The capstone isn't about learning a new technique. It's about picking one real, recurring piece of your own work and deliberately building all five parts around it, the way you'd scope a real client deliverable.

    Step-by-Step

  • Pick one real, recurring task — something you or your business actually does regularly (a weekly report, a client content pipeline, a research brief, an outreach process). Avoid a hypothetical — use something real.
  • Map the current manual process — write down every step you do by hand today, in order.
  • Choose the right surface for this task from Level 3 — plain chat, a Project with persistent context, Claude Code if it's a dev task, or a connector-equipped setup if it needs live data.
  • Design the prompt(s) using Guide 26's techniques — constraints, few-shot examples, decomposition, structured output.
  • Set up the context this system needs — reference documents, memory, files, or connectors — so Claude isn't starting from zero each time.
  • Define the agent(s) — break the work into clear roles or sub-tasks if more than one stage is involved, rather than one prompt trying to do everything.
  • Add human checkpoints — explicit points where you review, approve, or edit before anything is finalised or sent, especially anywhere client-facing.
  • Run it on a real instance of the task, not a test case.
  • Refine based on where it fell short.
  • Document the system — what it does, which surface it runs on, what the checkpoints are — so it's reusable and handoff-ready, not just something that lives in your head.
  • Example

A content system for a client that previously meant manually drafting ten pieces a week from a brief: the finished system uses a Project holding the client's brand voice and past approved content as context, a drafting agent that produces first passes against a structured template, a review checkpoint where the human approves or edits each draft, and a short weekly summary prompt reporting what went out. What used to be an afternoon of manual drafting is now a defined system with one real human checkpoint in the middle.

    Try This

Before building anything, write one paragraph describing the recurring task you're choosing for this capstone, and one sentence on why it's the right one to start with — it should be real, it should be recurring, and it should currently cost you meaningful time.

    Copy This

    CAPSTONE PROJECT BRIEF

Task: [THE REAL, RECURRING PIECE OF WORK]
Current manual process: [STEPS YOU DO BY HAND TODAY]

    1. Surface (Level 3): [CHAT / PROJECT / CLAUDE CODE / CONNECTOR SETUP] — why: [REASON]

    2. Prompt design (Guide 26):
       - Constraints: [FORMAT, TONE, LENGTH, EXCLUSIONS]
       - Examples: [FEW-SHOT EXAMPLES TO INCLUDE]
       - Output schema: [EXACT FORMAT]

    3. Context: [DOCUMENTS, MEMORY, FILES, OR CONNECTORS THIS SYSTEM NEEDS]

    4. Agent(s): [ROLES/SUB-TASKS, IF MORE THAN ONE STAGE]

    5. Human checkpoints: [WHERE YOU REVIEW/APPROVE BEFORE OUTPUT IS FINAL]

First real test run: [DATE / INSTANCE TO TRY IT ON]
What to refine after that run: [LEAVE BLANK UNTIL AFTER TESTING]

    Common Mistakes

  • Building the full system before testing the core prompt on its own — debug the prompt first, then assemble around it.
  • Skipping human checkpoints on anything client-facing, to save a few minutes.
  • Over-engineering a system — multiple agents and elaborate workflow — for a task that was actually simple enough for one well-built prompt.
  • Never documenting the finished system, so it only works as long as you personally remember how it's wired together.
  • Level-Up Tip

Treat this system the way you'd treat a piece of client work: give it a name, write down what it does in one paragraph, and revisit it in a month. The systems that last are the ones someone deliberately maintains, not the ones left running untouched.

    Action Checklist

○Choose one real, recurring task to build the system around
○Map the current manual process step by step
○Design the prompt(s), context, surface, agent(s), and checkpoints for it
○Run it on a real instance of the task and refine based on the result
○Document the finished system so it's reusable without you re-explaining it

Congratulations — you've completed all 30 guides and built a working Claude system of your own to show for it. That's the whole roadmap, start to finish.
